Speaking to The Sun at the Strictly Live tour launch, Michelle said: "You did tell me they could bring me in as your long lost sister."

Jamie replied: "I've been speaking to the powers that be to try and arrange it."

Michelle admitted: "I'll be very disappointed if it doesn't happen."

The pair were linked romantically after being spotted on a cosy night out.

However, Jamie denied there was anything between them other than a sibling-like friendship.

“Honestly, it’s hilarious that people think we’re getting jiggy!", he said.

“I really don’t know where that comes from, but I think everyone kind of just pre-empts the Strictly curse.

“You definitely ain’t got no worries about Michelle — she’s like a sister, mum and auntie all rolled into one.

“She’s constantly like, ‘Have you slept well? Have you got this and that?’, I’m being mothered! We’ve got sibling chemistry.”

Last month, Jamie joined The Sun’s Christmas SOS Appeal with Age UK by giving a dance lesson to the elderly.

The campaign shone a light on the loneliness and isolation many older people face at over the festive period.

Jamie, 30, said: “It’s incredibly important to keep talking to the older generation. I don’t think many of us realise just how much spending that time with your grandparents or other elderly people makes a difference.

“Just having a little chat really helps change your perspective on life, when you hear all the things they’ve lived through.

“I’ve loved being here and getting the chance to speak to everyone.”
