Real Housewives celeb superfan turns DOWN offer to be on new London spin-off as bosses struggle to cast glam Brits

A CELEBRITY superfan of Real Housewives turned DOWN the opportunity to be on London's new spin-off.
TV bosses are struggling to cast glam Brits for the upcoming series, inspired by the huge success of its American shows and the UK's Cheshire spin-off.
Now, podcaster and author Elizabeth Day has revealed she was approached to star in The Real Housewives of London, but said no - despite loving the show.
Speaking to This Morning's Alison Hammond on Sky's podcast Smart TV, Elizabeth said: “I did have a conversation about it, but it was very informal, and it would be brilliant, but it would remove my enjoyment of the show as a viewer.
“I don’t think I could cope.
“Well, I’ve already said no, but I couldn’t cope because there’s also a lot of online attention that these housewives get.
"I don’t know if I’ve got the cojones for it anyway.”
Hayu is developing its first original series, adapting the Bravo franchise, and setting it in London.
Alison said she would be interested in joining the show - but pointed out she's not married.
Elizabeth claimed: “It doesn’t matter. That’s an ironic term.
“So many of them are these badass businesswomen now.”
The Real Housewives of London's first series premieres in late 2025.
It means the UK will have two Housewives formats, with The Real Housewives of Cheshire now in its 17th series on ITVBe.
But stars such as Neighbours actor Holly Valance, fashion entrepreneur Trinny Woodall and Selling Sunset’s Chelsea Lazkani have apparently declined the opportunity due to other work commitments.
