I’m A Celeb’s ravaged set ‘looks like a bomb’s hit it’ as show is cancelled after ‘terrified’ crew are ‘blown from feet’

I'M A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!'s set "looks like a bomb has hit it" as the show is cancelled for the next two nights.

The "terrified" crew have struggled at the hands of Storm Arwen at Gwrych Castle in Wales, causing a whole manner of problems.

And photos of the production area show marquees ripped to shreds, and roofs and canopies ripped from structures after gales ravaged the location.

While ITV bosses were sure to take extra precautions to keep their celebrity campmates safe, the surrounding area was devastated by the weather.

A source explained: "It was terrifying. Down at the front of the castle people were running everywhere to try and secure property and the fencing.

"People were blown off their feet. Thankfully nobody was seriously injured."

The insider added to : "It looks like a bomb has hit the site today. The roofs of the marquees have been ripped or torn off and equipment is lying on on its side along with the fencing."

ITV were forced to cancel this weekend's instalments of I'm A Celeb, saying in a statement: "Owing to technical difficulties caused by extreme weather conditions in the area, there will be no new episodes of I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

"I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! will be replaced tonight and tomorrow night in the ITV schedules by compilation shows (voiced by Ant & Dec) featuring best moments from previous series."

The current series has only been on air for less than a week but has already suffered devastating dramas.

In addition to the storm forcing it off air, Richard Madeley had to leave the show after just four days following a medical emergency.

The TV favourite was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning, and though he was deemed fit to return to the castle, he wasn't allowed as he'd broken the show's strict Covid bubble.

Viewers have since blamed the show's gruelling Bushtucker Trials for making Richard poorly, although he has insisted to pals that it was a "false alarm".
