A FOURTH series of Stranger Things has been confirmed as creators sign a deal with Netflix to turn the hit show into a film.

A staggering 40 million Netflix viewers watched series three within its first four days of release.

The streaming site is now teasing the idea of Stranger Things being set outside of Hawkins, Indiana.

Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said: “The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love.

“We can’t wait to see what The Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of The Upside Down."

The twin brothers Matt and Ross pitched their idea for Stranger Things as an homage to 1980s genre films.

The series was picked up by Netflix and premiered in the summer of 2016 to critical-acclaim and went on to become a global phenomenon.

A trailer was released today for the upcoming fourth series with a teaser, which read: "We're not in Hawkins anymore."

Fans went into meltdown as they speculated that Millie Bobby Brown's character Eleven could turn into the show's villain.

While others are convince Hopper wasn't killed in the blast after all and will "return from the dead".

One fan said: "HOPPER IS ALIVE AND HE'LL BE ABLE TO BE JOYCE'S BOYFRIEND."

Another screamed: "HOPPER IS ALIVE AND HE'S IN THE UPSIDE DOWN."

Someone else said: "Not in Hawkins anymore but to Russia to save Hopper. yes Hopper is Alive."
