FANS have had to Let It Go for six years, but finally Frozen is back in the form of a sequel with a belting new song: Into The Unknown.
The Sun was invited to a special screening of the first 20 minutes of Frozen 2, where we got to hear Queen Elsa’s powerful new number.
Idina Menzel, who also voiced Elsa in the 2013 original, belts out the song — which will leave the hairs on the back of your neck standing and features lyrics with instant kids’ karaoke appeal.
Elsa, the queen with icy powers, sings: “I’ve had my adventure. I don’t need something new. I’m afraid of what I’m risking if I follow you . . . into the unknown.”
Frozen II, which opens in cinemas on November 22, includes seven new tracks from Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
The husband and wife duo, who wrote Oscar-winning Let It Go, were inspired by their own daughters, Katie and Annie, becoming more independent like Frozen’s sisters Anna and Elsa.
MELT HEARTS
Kristen said: “Anna and Elsa are growing up. And our own girls are growing up, too. As the girls get more independent and walk their own paths and face their own moments of crisis without us there to protect them, it’s ushered in a new era of parenting for us, which also made its way into the film.”
Guests at the screening got to hear other fresh tunes from the soundtrack, including soothing lullaby All Is Found, which promises memories can be discovered in a “river.”
Certain to melt hearts, it is sung in a flashback at the start of the film to the two siblings — then both young princesses — by their mum Queen Iduna.
There is also a classic comic Disney number from snowman Olaf called When I Am Older, where he sings that all the odd things happening to him will “make sense” when he grows up.
Since the two trailers for the Disney film dropped, social media has been buzzing with theories about the imagery which flashed briefly on screen.
Now we can reveal the secrets behind the family epic — and what toys the kids will be begging for this Christmas.
Fate of the family
WHEN Anna and Elsa were teenagers their parents King Agnarr and Queen Iduna died during a storm at sea.
Frozen II will reveal more about the former rulers of the fictional Scandinavian kingdom of Arendelle and how their deaths might not have been an accident.
Through a flashback at the beginning of the film, we learn that the spirits of the four elements – fire, earth, air and water – can be dangerous.
The King and Queen tell Anna and Elsa a story of how they barely survived after angering the spirits.
To calm the girls, Iduna sings a lullaby, saying, “There is a river full of memory”. Songwriter Kristen says: “The epic tone of the new movie was something we wanted to hit from the beginning.
“So, the lullaby, All Is Found, which Iduna sings to her young daughters, is meant to be a road map to the mythology of the story.”
Diamonds in the sky
IN the trailer, beguiling diamonds materialise in the night sky – sparking hundreds of online rumours about what the patterns could mean.
They represent the four elements, fire, earth, air and water, but are more petrifying than pretty.
The diamonds appear after Elsa, who is now the Queen, is drawn by a voice tempting her on an “adventure” and she sings Into The Unknown.
Somehow Elsa’s powers then conjure up these strange symbols and the spirits take revenge on the people of her town with a terrible storm.
Elsa realises she must go into the unknown to unravel its cause and save Arendelle. Anna and her boyfriend Kristoff, his reindeer Sven and Olaf the snowman, join her on the perilous trip.
Before leaving the kingdom they meet the trolls, whose leader Grand Pabbie warns: “Elsa has awoken the spirits”.
Where are they going?
THE movie centres on answering one key question – how did Elsa acquire the ability to manipulate ice and snow?
That was what young fans always wanted to know when they met the scriptwriters, director and producer. Director Jennifer Lee says the voice “promises answers about why she is the way she is, so she is compelled to find that voice”.
To get there, Elsa and Anna must first get through a previously impenetrable mist wall, which we see in the trailer.
It leads to the Enchanted Forest where they find both invisible forces putting them in “mortal danger” and the lieutenant with his brave troops.
Then Elsa has to cross a sea where water spirit, the Nokk, fights her every icy step of the way in the form of a stallion.
Romance for Elsa?
THE appearance in the trailer of handsome young lieutenant Destin Mattias, pictured with Anna, and a young girl led to rumours of romance for Elsa.
But hopes of finding either a boyfriend or a girlfriend for the single Queen have, we are sorry to report, been dashed.
Producer Peter Del Vecho told The Sun: “Elsa has awoken spirits that have put her in danger. We are not developing a romantic story for Elsa.”
It’s not going so well for loved-up iceman Kristoff either.
His attempts at proposing to Anna are ruined because the woman of his dreams is distracted by Elsa’s problems.
But Peter added: “In Frozen II, we get to see how Anna and Kristoff’s relationship evolves.”
How can Olaf survive in warm?
LOVEABLE snowman Olaf – who helped Anna and Kristoff find Elsa’s ice palace in the first film – should melt in the autumnal landscapes we see in the second Frozen movie.
The shortage of snow is not a problem any more for the character, voiced by Josh Gad, because Elsa has magically given him a permafrost covering.
He is now able to snuggle up by the fire with a good book and has huge amounts of useless facts he likes to tell everyone.
The director says: “He’s full of questions. He’s contemplating life and death and existence – much like any kid would, but he’s doing it the Olaf way.”

What will kids want for Xmas?
ON top of the £1billion Frozen made at the box office, it earned a similar amount from all the merchandise.
For the sequel, cute dolls of Anna and Elsa as little girls are already on sale on Disney’s website.
But this Friday will be the big rollout of potential Frozen II gifts via a “Fan Fest” at which kids can see new items.
They will include everything from dresses, fashion accessories and toys to books and home products, such as branded cushions.
Best get in early before the stampede.
