Good Morning Britain viewers work out Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions’ magician Darcey Oakes’ ‘easy’ card trick
GOOD Morning Britain viewers were quick to work out Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions’ finalist Darcey Oakes’ “easy” card trick.
The 32-year-old magician appeared on the breakfast show alongside fellow finalists Twist and Pulse ahead of tomorrow night’s pre-recorded finale.
It is yet to be revealed whether Darcey managed to win the show with his performance – but if it might have to be stronger than his GMB magic if he wants to be in with a chance.
The hunky Canadian wowed hosts Kate Garraway, Ben Shephard, and Alex Beresford when he asked Kate to think of any card that she wanted as the segment came to an end.
The 52-year-old presenter chose the ace of spades, and was left floored when Darcey then pulled that folded up card from his otherwise-empty wallet.
But while everyone in the studio was hugely impressed with Darcey’s act, fans at home were less convinced – taking to social media to expose the magic.
One angry viewer pointed out that it looked like there were several cards folded up together, tweeting: “What a CHEAT. Clearly has two cards folded.”
Another wrote: “That card trick is so easy lol, Paul Daniels did all this in the 70s/80s.”
A third said: “There were two cards stuck to each other, what a s**t trick”.
This is not the first time that Darcey’s trick has been rumbled, with fans also exposing how he escaped an explosion that terrified the judges when he performed in the ITV series last month.
The illusionist was handcuffed and locked inside a box that was then lifted 20 feet in the air for his act.
Four fuses were lit as Darcey gave himself 56 seconds to escape – appearing to struggle to get out.
The box then exploded but the star calmly appeared behind the judges completely unscathed.
While the performance wowed Simon Cowell and co., as well as the audience who voted Darcey through to tomorrow night’s final, viewers once again exposed him online.
One tweeted: “He exited the box before it was put 20ft in the air through a trap door in the stage. The footage of him inside the box is pre recorded.”
Britain’s Got Talent fans can see Darcey battle to be crowned the UK’s first ultimate champion in tomorrow show.
