DATING JUST GOT SCARY

Mel B lands big-money gig hosting online dating show The Truth Flirts for app Badoo

MEL B seems to be unstoppable at the moment.

Fresh from touring with the Spice Girls and landing a gig as the new panellist on ITV2’s Celebrity Juice, Scary Spice has also bagged her own online dating programme.

The star will host the chat show — called The Truth Flirts — for dating-focused social network Badoo.

The big-money gig sees Mel, who recently left her role as a judge on America’s Got Talent, interview a host of guests, from dating experts and gurus to pop stars and reality favourites, about love and romance.

It comes after the mum-of-three divorced abusive second husband Stephen Belafonte two years ago after she claimed he left her with just £800 in her bank account.

A telly source said: “Mel will grill a series of celebrity names from all backgrounds on their dating history and what they want to find in love.

“It’s ironic that Mel is now single herself so perhaps she’s hoping to pick up some tips along the way.”

As well as revealing she had a fling with bandmate Geri Halliwell during the group’s Nineties heyday, Mel was linked to Snow Patrol bass player Paul Wilson earlier this year.

Speaking last month Mel insisted on The Jonathan Ross show that she is focused on her family after her messy divorce.

She said: “I think relationships for me are a little bit scary, especially where I’ve come from. I’m happy just raising my three kids which takes up most of my time.

“Apart from that I’m working, I’m a single mum at the end of the day.”

Vic's in bloom

THE Great British Bake Off has already given rise to numerous similar shows, and now the list is set to grow with a competition based around gardening.

Streaming giant Netflix will next year unveil The Big Flower Fight, where ten pairs of contestants vie to prove who’s the most green-fingered.

The eight-part series will be hosted by comic Vic Reeves, who is himself a keen gardener.

A TV insider said: “The creators are clearly continuing the GBBO format by setting a cluster of tasks each week.

“The contestants will be made up of florists, sculptors and garden designers, who will be tested on their skills.”

We’ll soon have a whole channel airing competitions 24 hours a day.
