The jumpy, largely dialogue-free flick has had such an impact on those who've watched, they've claimed they're "rocking themselves to sleep" afterwards.

One terrified viewer tweeted: "Well Hush has left me rocking myself to sleep, paranoid a serial killer is in the house and I can’t hear them. #Hypochondriac."

A second posted: "Can’t look at Halloween masks the same way after watching Hush. Swear it’s turned me into a paranoid wreck…"

A third said: Swear down Hush on Netflix is such an underrated movie! One of scariest, most claustrophobic horrors I’ve seen in ages."

A fourth wrote: "Hush on Netflix! It's so real and scary."

And a fifth added: "Last night I was home alone & thought the smartest idea was to watch the horror movie #Hush on #Netflix. It scared the crap out of me."

Hush was made on a tiny $1million (£775,000) budget but has received huge critical acclaim.

Even horror titan Stephen King said: "How good is Hush? Up there with Halloween and, even more, Wait Until Dark. White knuckle time."

Another critic called it "one of the best horror films in modern history".

Hush stars actress Kate Siegel, 37, who also co-wrote the movie.

Katie has appeared in several other terrifying Netflix offerings, including Gerald's Game and The Haunting of Hill House.
