REPEAT OFFENDER

Emma Thompson to clock up almost 7,000 air miles in just two weeks — despite preaching about climate change

DESPITE continuous scrutiny mainly from this paper, hypocritical climate change campaigning A-list stars still don’t get it.

Repeat offender Emma Thompson, who helped bring London to a standstill with barmy Extinction Rebellion and lectured us about our evil, gas guzzling ways as she jetted in from Los Angeles in first class, is at it again.

The Love Actually star was pictured this week looking glamorous in a green jumpsuit at the New York premiere for new film Last Christmas.

However did she get there, I hear you ask.

Well it can’t have been by boat like courageous Greta Thunberg who took 15 days to get across the pond in a highly sophisticated and expensive yacht.

Just a few days before, Emma was spotted in London posing with fans whilst slurping on some ice cream.

And she will have to return to Blighty soon as the UK premiere of the new flick is on November 11.

It means in a fortnight she’ll have clocked up 6,900 miles in air travel and if she does so in style, which she is known to do, her total footprint for the flights will be a whopping 6.68 tonnes.

It comes after she defended flying 5,400 miles to attend madcap Extinction Rebellion’s protest from Los Angeles in the capital earlier this year.

She said: “All these people know I have to fly when I work. I live here, I’ve always lived here and sometimes I have to fly.

"I fly so much less than I did but I do have to fly sometimes.”

I’m all for saving the planet, but Emma needs to look at herself before preaching to those who could only dream of her privilege.
