Doctor Who fans go wild as BBC hints at Jodie Whittaker’s dark side in shadowy teaser
JODIE Whittaker’s second series of Doctor Who is just around the corner.
The cult sci-fi show is set to return to screens early next year with Jodie at the helm as the Thirteenth Doctor.
Whipping fans into a frenzy the BBC treated fans to a teaser image on the official Doctor Who Twitter account.
While Jodie is generally known for her eccentricity, optimism and sunny disposition, the image is decidedly dark.
Her shadow looms over the Tardis as a single beam of light is swallowed up by a black abyss.
The accompanying caption reads: “Watch this space,” in what appears to be a hint at more information dropping soon.

Unsurprisingly, fans rushed to comment on the cryptic post in their hundreds.
“Don't freaking tell me we're getting a trailer? There's a certain amount of excitement my heart can handle!” one gushed.
“I AM HYPERVENTILATING,” a second exclaimed.
A third chimed in: Movement at last! What a fab image as well!”
While a fourth wrote: “You better drop that trailer soon.”
The furore comes after a fan shared images of an army of Daleks during filming on Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge.
In a short video, the Doctor's greatest foe seems to have returned en masse, with a number of Daleks on the bridge during what appears to be an evening shoot.
One appears to be a newly designed recon Dalek, while the others are an older model, the gold-plated Daleks from the 2005 series.
However the recon Dalek looks to be destroyed in other footage gathered from Snapchat.
