The duo decided to mock the music mogul on their social media channels over the spooky holiday, recreating his famous buttoned down shirt with high trousers look.

They struck a series of poses behind the judging desk and captioned the pics: "This is quite possibly the stupidest thing we've ever done. Happy Halloween everybody. And happy Halloween @SimonCowell please don't kick us off for this."

And on Instagram they filmed a video of the two Simon's demanding Harvey sing for him in a hotel corridor.

They joked: "We have never been big into Halloween but since we’re on #XFactorCelebrity this year we thought... what’s the only thing scarier than Simon Cowell?

"So we became two Simon Cowells. 😂😂😂 All in good @thexfactor fun of course. Tune into #XFactorCelebrity this Saturday to see if we survive through until next week! Mwahaha. Ha. Huh."

It comes as The Sun Online exclusively revealed Vinnie Jones has been giving Simon a run for his money backstage on the show.

The former footballer, 54, who went straight through to the live shows following the tragic death of his wife Tanya, appears to be ruling the roost on the ITV show.

After impressing judges with his rendition of the Blue's Brother's hit Everybody Needs Somebody last week, he's keeping the tempo up by performing another energetic song - and he's been masterminding it all himself.

A source exclusively told The Sun Online: “Vinnie knows exactly how he wants his performance to look on Saturday night and has given very firm instructions to the team about the creative for it, even down to the exact number of dancers and where they should be on stage.

“Vinnie is his own man and is definitely calling the shots when it comes to his performance and even giving Simon a run for his money when it comes to knowing what’s what!"

And it isn't just winning the competition that Vinnie has got his heart set on, he also wants to become a judge on the show.

The insider added: “Vinnie has said he’d love to be a judge on one of Simon’s shows one day and he is certainly impressing everyone with his opinions on how things should look and his attention to detail.”

The Hollywood hard man got choked up as following his first live performance, which he dedicated to late wife Tanya.

Tanya passed away, aged 53, in July after a six-year cancer battle after being diagnosed with melanoma in 2013.

His performance appeared to impress audience members, who voted him to sing another week.

Vinnie will perform alongside other saved artists including Megan McKenna, Try Star, Kevin McHale, Martin Bashir and No Love Lost on Saturday.

Ashley Olsen and Ricki Lake were both sent home last week.

The star recently revealed Simon had "gone soft" compared to his early days on the show.

Vinnie said: “He needs a bit of toughening up. He needs some tattoos around his neck, or a tattooed arm, that’s what he needs.

"And I know just the man . . . me.”
