How does the Strictly dance off work?
During the results show every Sunday night Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announce the two couples who have landed in the bottom two.
The scores are taken from the judges scores and combined with the scores from the viewers' votes to make the overall total.
The two lowest ranked couples then take part in the dance-off, after which the judges decide who deserves to keep their place in the competition.
The couple they do not save is then eliminated from the show.
