Neil Jones WILL return to Strictly on Saturday after two weeks off show for injury
NEIL Jones WILL return to Saturday’s Strictly and says he's already training for the show after two weeks off.
The Strictly Come Dancing star has told fans he’s learning this week’s dance with partner Alex Scott and will be back after his injury.
Last night, Neil tweeted: “Most people don’t like Mondays but I do... That’s because I get to teach a NEW DANCE!!!!”
When a fan replied to ask if he’d be back on the dancefloor, Neil replied: “It's positive at the moment but still I need to see.”
The BBC later confirmed he'd be back, revealing he and Alex would be dancing the Jive to Let's Twist Again on Saturday.
He told another fan: “I’m getting better every day”. Neil has been off the show for two weeks after suffering an injury to his calf muscle.
Strictly’s Kevin Clifton stood in for him and danced with footballer Alex in Neil’s place – with Craig Revel Horwood slyly commenting that Kevin had “worked wonders” with Alex while Neil was off.
The razor-tongued judge appeared to put the boot in during feedback for their American Smooth by saying: "This accidental partnership is working wonders."
In last week’s show, Alex received a seven from Craig, with Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Bruno Tonioli giving her an eight.
When Neil was injured originally, he needed to be replaced a mere 45 minutes before the show and sources said that bosses grabbed the nearest dancer – who happened to be Kevin.
"It would have been Gorka but he'd gone out for coffee and with 45 minutes to go, it needed to be the fastest option.
"Kevin was there, it was literally a case of grabbing the nearest person so he got the gig."
