Strictly’s Bruno Tonioli reveals he can’t say ‘fat’ on BBC show in fear of upsetting snowflakes
STRICTLY judge Bruno Tonioli revealed he wasn’t allowed to say “fat” on the BBC1 show for fear of upsetting snowflakes.
The Italian, 64, was offering comedian Chris Ramsey hope he could win the dance-off against actor Karim Zeroual by saying: “It’s not over until the fat lady sings”.
But he hastily asked for a reshoot, admitting: “Oh, I can’t say that any more. You can’t say ‘fat’ on TV.”
A show insider said: “Bruno is just conscious about offending people.
"It’s the last thing he’d want to do so it’s better just to be safe.
“The BBC are incredibly sensitive right now. Obviously it’s filtering down to its stars.
“The audience didn’t have any issue but accepted it’s the new world we’re living in.”
But judges clearly have a freer licence away from the PC-obsessed Beeb.
Craig Revel Horwood, 54, took aim at ex-contestant Debbie McGee, 61, on the first night of his Snow White panto at Manchester Opera House on Friday.
Playing the Wicked Queen, he mocked Debbie’s “saggy skin” while transforming into an “old crone”.

The Aussie quipped: “Make me into an old crone with a bad back and sagging skin like Debbie McGee but not as far gone.”
He poked fun at ex-judges Darcey Bussell, 50, and Alesha Dixon, 41, too, for eclipsing their time on the show.
Craig said: “There is no one more fab-u-lous than I. I’ve beaten Darcy and Alesha.”
