Suranne Jones is preparing for Gentleman Jack series two by growing all her body hair out for six months

SURANNE Jones is preparing for her latest bodice-ripping TV role by growing all of her body hair for six months.

The actress is returning for a second series of historical BBC drama Gentleman Jack, in which she plays 19th-century industrialist and lesbian trailblazer Anne Lister.

In preparation for filming, which begins next year, Suranne, 41, has thrown out her razors, stopped plucking her eyebrows and allowed nature to take its course.

A source said: “It was awkward and problematic at first, and her husband was rather taken aback.

“But they have both got used to the idea now, and she actually finds not trimming any body hair quite liberating.”

The former Corrie star lives in London with scriptwriter hubby Laurence Akers and their three-year-old son.
