In the run up to the launch, Jodie spoke out about how she keeps morale up on set during an appearance on BBC Radio 6.

As she introduced Salva Mea by Faithless she divulged the secret WhatsApp group she shares with a select few members of the hit series’ production team.

“This is related to Doctor Who,” she began.

“I am in a WhatsApp group called ‘Simply the Best’ with three crew members, and every Friday we on-set send, even though we’re stood next to each other, and it takes the entire week to prep – a Friday banger.”

We suppose that’s one way to keep your spirits up when you’re facing some of the universe’s most formidable aliens.

“We review it and somebody wins ‘Friday banger',” she continued.

Unfortunately Salva Mea didn’t make the cut, as she signed off: “I didn’t pick this [one] but I hadn’t heard it for such a long time and I have not stopped listening to it for about three months.”

No doubt co-stars Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill are green with envy after being left out of the musical merriment.

Elsewhere in Doctor Who news, Walsh opened up about Graham’s emotional journey with step-grandson Ryan during an interview on This Morning earlier this week.

Meanwhile the cast promised “real fear factor” during a rundown of series 12’s most terrifying monsters.

Whittaker even admitted that she almost died during filming in South Africa when a poisonous spider crawled inside her costume.
