Line of Duty creator sparks fan frenzy tweeting season 6 clue ‘solving identity of H’
LINE Of Duty supremo Jed Mercurio sent fans of the hit crime drama into a frenzy this afternoon - when he tweeted a "plot clue" to the new series.
Some viewers even reckoned the cryptic post, showing the Aussie Tim Tam biscuit, pointed to shadowy baddie 'H' being revealed as detective Kate Fleming.
Posting a picture of the chocolate snack being broken in two, he added the Line of Duty hashtag, writing: "Series 6 Plot Clue No. 1."
Many pointed out that the biscuits are made by Arnott's - the same surname as Martin Compston's investigator Steve Arnott - and the fan theories were flying.
One fan posted simply: "Arnott breaks."
Another wrote: "My theory is the biscuit company is Arnott's and the biscuit bar is breaking so Steve will have broken up with his girlfriend and be investigating her or someone in her department."
A third armchair Sherlock Holmes pointed out the maker of the biscuit shares a surname with Steve's colleague Kate.
They wrote: "The guy who created the biscuit is called Timothy "Tamworth" FLEMING. For a company called ARNOTTS.
"Nothing is a coincidence on this show! BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN, I think my head is exploding..."
One other chipped in: "Either Steve and Kate get it on or he finds out she’s the fourth H!🤷♀️"
During Line Of Duty's series five’s finale on BBC One in May it was revealed that there was not only one 'H' but four 'caddies'.
The sixth series of the drama is expected to air at some point in 2020.
Series five's final episode was the UK's most-watched show of 2019, bagging 9.6 million viewers on the night and 13.7 million overall.
