STRICTLY head judge Shirley Ballas is facing a nightmare Christmas following a house renovation gone wrong.

The star, 59, revealed her plans to renovate have “ended in pure disappointment” thanks to a number of building faults – one so serious that her son almost “broke his back”.

Sharing videos of the water damage caused by a leaky roof, Shirley explained how her son had slipped in the bathroom only to be told by the building company in question that “it’s not their problem”.

She also told her followers that her son had sat on an installed chair in her new steam shower, only for it to fall off the wall.

“You absolutely could not write this stuff,” she wrote.

Telling her followers that she was now facing a leaky roof over Christmas, she warned: “To all doing renovations check once check twice about builders they are never how they seem”.

Shirley said she was “full of hope” at the start of the project, sharing a photo of herself posing with her building team.

But now she says she feels “let down”

“I just feel builders could have a little more due care and attention,” she wrote, before telling her followers that she hopes “they will come back and sort it out”.

It’s been a month of bad luck for Shirley, who was forced to pull out of dancing in last weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing final – which saw Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse crowned winners - thanks to a hamstring injury caused while performing in panto.

An insider said it was a “huge blow” for Shirley and that she was “massively disappointed”.

Shirley had been appearing as Mother Nature in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Darlington Hippodrome alongside her role on the BBC1 show - having met her now boyfriend Daniel Taylor during a pantomime run last Christmas.

The show saw the couple reunited on stage, with Shirley telling earlier this year how she is “happier than ever” thanks to the romance.
