Caroline Flack’s boyfriend Lewis Burton says he’s ‘gutted’ they have to spend Christmas apart
CAROLINE Flack’s boyfriend Lewis Burton has said he’s “gutted” that they are having to spend Christmas Day apart, insisting: “I never pressed charges.”
The 40-year-old former Love Island host pleaded not guilty to assaulting him on Monday but bail conditions mean she’s not allowed to contact him.
Tonight, he posted a shot of her smiling while clutching two cuddly toys at a funfair.
He wrote: “Gutted I can’t spend Christmas with you, I want to repeat I never pressed charges and asked the other day for the bail conditions to be dropped but no1 listened to me.”
Adding a praying-hands emoji, he added: “I want this all to be over.”
Lewis was spotted going for a jog this morning after court conditions forced the couple to scrap their festive plans.
Last night Caroline posted a photo of herself smiling, writing: “Been advised not to go on social media …
“But I wanted to say happy Christmas to everyone who has been so incredibly kind to me this year.
“This kind of scrutiny and speculation is a lot to take on for one person to take on their own… I’m a human being at the end of the day.”
She continued: “I’m not going to be silenced when I have a story to tell and a life to keep going with …. I’m taking some time out to get feeling better and learn some lessons from situations I’ve got myself into to.”
On Monday a judge refused to lift a bail condition banning her and Lewis from contacting each other as Caroline, 40, wept in court.
She was accused of assaulting the 27-year-old in his sleep after finding texts from a woman on his phone.
After her court appearance, he shared a loved-up image of the couple on Instagram.
He wrote: “It’s heartbreaking I can’t see my girlfriend over Christmas. What I witnessed today was horrible. She did not hit me with a lamp.
“Arguments do happen every day in a every relationships. Gutted I am not allowed to protect her right now.”
