Joe Giudice says he’s ‘willing to change’ for daughters in 2020 amid deportation drama and divorce from Teresa
REAL Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice vowed to change for his four daughters amid his deportation appeal and split from wife Teresa.
After the girls spent their holiday break with their father in Italy, the freed felon reflected on spending more than three years in prison on fraud charges.
In a post, Joe shared a wise quote he learned in prison.
"...You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.
"All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination."
He added: "I’m willing to change for my girls."
Teresa responded "Enjoy Rome" before the doting dad and his daughters headed out to tour the country's capital.
The 47-year-old dad, who is not an American citizen, spent several months in an ICE detention facility following his prison sentence.
He is now awaiting the outcome of his latest federal deportation appeal in his native country.
In the post, he also wrote that hurting Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 13, and Audriana, 10, while being locked up was the "worst mistake" he ever made.
Joe said his feelings are reflected in an iconic clip from the 1990's sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
In the scene, Will Smith's character melts down over his estranged father's absence from his childhood.
Joe, 49, added he's ready to move forward in the new decade: "Here’s to turning 50 new outlook and beginning!"
In another post, he added that he wants to be the best version of himself as he enters the new decade.
"I may have to learn to be self-restraint with bowl usage, hot water heating, or lack of American amenities but I can get accustomed to that cause I get to see these faces again!! Till next time!!"
Before serving prison time, Joe said in a 2014 Watch What Happens Live interview that he was aware of changes he needed to make in his life.
He admitted he drank two bottles of wine a night before entering prison.
The RHONJ star said: “Before you [Teresa] started this Real Housewives stuff, I think I used to only drink on the weekends. Now I drink every day.”
After leaving prison, Joe showed off his new slim figure and boasted he's lost more than 50 pounds.
