Celebrity Mastermind viewers in hysterics as Casualty actress wrongly calls Greta Thunberg ‘Sharon’
CELEBRITY Mastermind viewers were left in hysterics last night when a Casualty star wrongly called Greta Thunberg “Sharon”.
Amanda Henderson, who played Robyn Miller in the series, was asked by host John Humphrys which Swedish climate change activist wrote Too Small To Make A Difference but was left completely stumped.
The 33-year-old umm and ahhed abit, before replying: “Sharon”.
The answer was of course Greta Thunberg, but Amanda’s reply entertained viewers far more.
One person simply wrote: “2020 is cancelled”
While another tweeted: “Celebrity Mastermind just now a question was asked about a Swedish girl who became a climate change activist asking what her name was. Amanda Henderson's reply: "Sharon?" I AM SCREAMING”
And someone else added: “Greta Thunberg shall henceforth be known as Sharon #Mastermind”.
Amanda had done really well on her specialist subject - songs from animated Disney films from 1989-1999- but really struggled with general knowledge.
She went up against Paul Chuckle, TV chef Levi Roots and comedian Geoff Norcott .
Her appearance is likely to go down in history, much like when cricket star Montey Panesar went on the celebrity version last year.
Things again started going wrong in the general knowledge round when he answered “Dreamboys” to the question: “In what 1997 film do a group of Sheffield men become strippers for a night at their local working men’s club?”
The correct answer was The Full Monty.
He was then asked which city the German football team played its home internationals until 2001.
He replied: “Athens” – with the capital of Greece being some distance from Munich.
Responding to the question about which season was “fruitful and mellow,” according to poet John Keats, he replied “Oliver Twist”.
Even host John couldn’t suppress a giggle at that one as he revealed it was autumn.
When asked which city the sitcom Cheers was set in, Monty answered: "America" instead of Boston.
