Jennifer Lopez reveals she considered stripping as she struggled at start of her career
JENNIFER Lopez has revealed she considered stripping for money as she struggled to make ends meet at the start of her career.
The 50-year-old, who recently played a stripper in the movie Hustlers, was trying to make it as a dancer at the time but was offered more cash if she did it in erotic clubs.
When quizzed about whether she had considered it, she told Magazine: “I did.
“There was a moment in my life when my friends, who were also dancers, told me about making thousands of dollars at clubs in New Jersey.”
J-Lo went on to say how they offered her shows where she didn’t have to get naked, saying: “[My friends] said, ‘You won’t need to be topless.’”
However she decided against it – despite it being such a quick and easy way to make cash.
“It sounded awfully good when I was broke and eating pizza every day, but I never did it,” she said.
Jennifer also opened up about playing Ramona in the hit film last year.
The mum-of-two explained: “I was a little nervous about doing this movie because I had never played someone this dark or complicated.
“I liked that Ramona, the character I play, and the other strippers were looked at as equals to their patrons, the guys on Wall Street.

“Ramona reminded me of that girlfriend we all have who is exciting but can also get you into trouble. You always miss that friend when she’s gone, but when you get together, you worry you might find yourself in some crazy situation. That’s Ramona.”
The role has led to the star getting Best Supporting Actress nominations at both the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Golden Globes, which are held tomorrow.
Yesterday she won the Spotlight Award at The Palm Springs International Film Festival.
