RACHEL Riley knows the meaning of all the rude words which come up on Countdown, according to her co-star Susie Dent.

Despite sitting in Dictionary Corner, Susie admitted she often has to turn to Rachel for help when a naughty spelling appears or a word ends up having two meanings.

She told the :  “Rachel says ‘Susie knows every single word in the dictionary apart from the rude ones.’ And I think that’s probably true.”

“Sometimes I will read, very innocently, a definition of something from the dictionary and not know that in the urban dictionary there’s a much ruder definition of it.

“Rachel will know what the ruder definition is while I have no clue and she often educates me on that one afterward.”

The 55-year-old, who has been on the show since 1992, also revealed that words are often removed from the show entirely because they are too rude and it airs pre watershed.

Rachel Riley left blushing as Countdown board spells out very rude word

Rachel, 33, has been doing Countdown for ten years but is currently on maternity leave after welcoming her first daughter with Pasha Kovalev in December.

Last year Countdown was forced to blur out the word “w***ers” after it appeared on the board – leaving Rachel in hysterics.

The quiz show previously took an awkward turn after an embarrassed-looking Rachel  assembled the words 'cum budgie' on the famous board.

Other previous rude words on the show include a**e', 'clit', 'shags', 'no panties', 'vaginas', 'm***e', 'todgers', 'noshed', 'teabags', 't**t' and 'OK I squirt'.
