COUNTDOWN stalwart SUSIE DENT has admitted she’ll never retire from her role in dictionary corner.
The lexicographer said bosses would have to be the ones to ask her to leave after marking her 28th anniversary of being on the hit Channel 4 show.
In an exclusive interview, Susie said: “I’ve done it for so long I could never see myself leaving.
“It’s the love of my life.
“I still get so nervous when I deliver my origins of words and when that clock starts to count down you get this rush of adrenaline.
“That feeling never goes away, even after all these years.”
Susie, who’s teamed up with McDonald’s to celebrate the launch of the ‘Appy Days Deals - 24 deals in 23 days - available on the My McDonald’s App, also revealed she can memorise up to 400 words in a day
She made the revelation after taking on Grime artist Lethal Bizzle in a word association battle for the fast food chain.
Susie said: “I’m a massive geek and because I’ve been working with words for so long, my brain just has the capacity to be able to remember them all.
“I was nervous going up against Lethal as he is so good.
“I was really looking forward to meeting him actually because he invented the word “dench”, which got into the dictionary.
“It is really rare for someone to get the word into the dictionary so I was really excited about speaking to him.
“I memorised 400 words for the competition.
