White House Farm viewers horrified by influx of ‘Free Jeremy Bamber’ posts on Twitter
WHITE House Farm viewers have been left horrified by the influx of ‘Free Jeremy Bamber’ posts on Twitter.
The new ITV crime drama is based on the 1985 murders of June and Nevill Bamber, their adopted daughter Shelia, and their grandchildren Daniel and Nicholas, by June and Nevill's adopted son Jeremy.
The family had been shot 25 times in total and blame originally fell on victim Sheila, who was accused of a murder-suicide, but all wasn't as it originally seemed.
Jeremy, now 58, was eventually convicted of the murders but has always maintained his innocence and insists he didn't kill his family.
After watching the first episode, a number of viewers also started to think Jeremy could be innocent, and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
One wrote: "Does anybody else think that Jeremy Bamber might be innocent? A lot of discrepancies in this case... #WhiteHouseFarm."
Another tweeted: "jeremy bamber is innocent. dare u to try and change my mind."
A third wrote: "Jeremy Bamber is innocent. Tonight’s tv drama will not cover the other side of the story. "It involves withheld evidence, destroyed evidence, a woman scorned, a family with a vested financial interest in Bamber being prosecuted, and a successful lie detector result
However, such comments left other viewers horrified as they firmly believe Jeremy did kill his family.

The drama stars Stephen Graham as DCI Taff Jones, who is investing the case, while Freddie Fox plays Jeremy and Cressida Bonas plays Sheila.
White House Farm continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
