Kit looks smart in a blue jumper, jeans and a brown coat, while Gemma is wrapped up in a long coat and woolly hat.

In other scenes, Gemma was seen being hoisted 20ft into the air by a crane as her super-powered character Sersi demonstrated her abilities.

The pair both have plenty of experience in the sci-fi and fantasy genres.

Kit fronted Game of Thrones, the genre’s most successful TV series of all time.

Meanwhile Chan fronted acclaimed Channel 4 AI drama Humans in recent years, playing synthetic  Mia.

Other celebs to star in Eternals include Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden and Kumail Nanjiani.

Jolie and Madden, who play leaders Thena and Ikaris, were evacuated from the film set at the end of last year after an unexploded bomb was discovered.

The official synopsis for Eternals reads: "Marvel Studios' The Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years.
