Peaky Blinders director hints that Oswald Mosley will meet Hitler in twisted wedding scenes
PEAKY Blinders' director has hinted Oswald Mosley will meet Hitler in twisted wedding scenes.
The real-life politician is played by Sam Claflin in the BBC drama and was introduced during season five.
Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) tried to bump him off in season five but his plan was foiled, and now director Anthony Byrne has revealed Oswald will be back to cause more upset in season six.
Speaking on the Obsessed With Peaky Blinders podcast, Anthony revealed which characters would be returning, saying: "Obviously Gina (Anya Taylor-Joy) and whoever her family are will make themselves known, Oswald Mosley and some people around him and his world.”
Sam, 33, has also given hints about what fans can expect from his character based on his real life history.
Speaking to UPROXX in October last year, he said: "Not long after the 30s, he married Lady Diana Mitford, who herself was quite a notorious human being.
"Their wedding was at Joseph Goebbels’ summer house, one of the nastiest Nazis ever, and Adolf Hitler was in attendance, so that is a life event I would like to portray on Peaky Blinders.
“Tommy Shelby and Hitler in a room together would be quite eventful.”
Sam also admitted he thinks Oswald could stick around on the show for quite some time to come, much to Tommy's dismay.
He said: "Mosley lived a very, very long life. I think he died in the 80s.

“So, unless they completely mess with history, I don’t see him dying.
"But whether the next series includes me, is not for me to decide, unfortunately. If it was, I’d be in every scene.”
The real Oswald Mosley rose to fame as an MP in the 1920s before achieving notoriety in the 1930s as the leader of the British Union of Fascists.
