Caroline Flack returns to the UK as Love Island bosses say they ‘want her back’
CAROLINE Flack has jetted back to the UK after being given assurances about her TV future — and deciding to quit booze.
The axed Love Island host, 40, was spotted in London after her stint in LA, looking fit and healthy in leggings, a tracksuit top and shades.
She has told friends she is keeping away from alcohol after vowing to clean up her lifestyle.
And we can reveal she has been told ITV chiefs want her back if she is cleared in court of assaulting boyfriend Lewis Burton, 27.
Flack flew to California to escape the assault charge furore which forced her to step down from her dating reality show role.
She told a pal: “I’m having the worst time of my life at the moment. But I’m a strong woman and I will get through it.”
Meanwhile, the winter series of Love Island, fronted by Flack’s pal Laura Whitmore, 34, has lost 800,000 viewers from the summer show.
And a showbiz source said: “Caroline has been told Love Island want her back for the next series.
“Laura has done a great job so far but the show’s bosses don’t feel she has the same pull.
“Caroline has also had interest from other networks, including Channel 4.
“However, she knows she has to get through the court case first.”
Flack, arrested after a bust-up with Lewis at her home in Islington, North London, on December 12, has moved to another pad in the capital.
And our source added: “Caroline has not touched alcohol since before Christmas and has been getting to the gym every day.
“She is in much better shape both physically and mentally.
“The LA sunshine was good for her and she adopted the Californian healthy lifestyle, which she is keeping up back in London.”
She has told pals she wants to move back in with ex-tennis player Lewis when the court case is over.
He publicly backed Flack, whose bail conditions bar her from seeing him, and called her “harmless”.
That came after The Sun revealed a gruesome image of the blood-splattered scene at her flat.
Magistrates heard she hit him with a lamp.
She denies assault and is set for trial on March 4.
