Power show boss addresses Ghost ‘faking death’ theories as fans left reeling by finale leak
NETFLIX series Power has been shrouded in speculation ahead of the series six finale with suggestions the fate of James 'Ghost' St Patrick has been leaked.
A frenzy of rumours have surrounded the potential death of Omari Hardwick's character, after hints he had been killed in his nightclub.
Character Dre was ruled out of the suspect list when he was seen watching a news report documenting Ghost's death and subsequently, Power writer Courtney Kemp has addressed theories the character's passing was fake.
She told Entertainment Weekly: “Yeah, Ghost is definitely dead.”
She added: "I think it’s self-explanatory and I’ll just say that.
"I don’t want to give you any more than that."
Although her comments initially seemed straightforward, more speculation of a fix was stirred when she said she "don't know" in response to a question on whether Ghost was dead, no question.
Yet Courtney insisted she did not want to keep the character's fate secret, so it seems fans will have to take her word for it.
Whatever the outcome, Power, as we know it, will be over next month.
However there is a spin-off show in the works titled Power Book II: Ghost.
RnB legend Mary J Blige has signed up to appear in the new series.
Mary shared the news with a crowd at the Television Critics’ Association, saying: “This is probably going to be the most exciting thing that will happen to me this year.
“I’ve known so many Tashas, I’ve known so many Ghosts. I’ve dated so many Ghosts, I’m a huge fan for life, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.
Meanwhile, Power came back to Netflix on January 6, 2020 for part two of season 6.
