What happened on White House Farm tonight? Jeremy Bamber is arrested for slaughtering his family
WHITE House Farm had viewers gripped tonight when killer Jermey Bamber was FINALLY arrested for slaughtering his family.
Episode five saw a key witness come forward with crucial information.
What happened on White House Farm tonight?
Despite the testimony of a vital witness confirming some of DI Stan suspicions, DSI Taff is still not convinced of Jeremy Bamber's guilt.
But in episode five the police were soon forced to question what they thought they knew previously, and pursue a case against Jeremy.
Shelia's meltdown
At the beginning of the episode we got an insight into Shelia's mental health.
In a flashback Jeremy and his girlfriend Julie paid a visit to her flat.
But when they arrived they found chaos with Shelia screaming that her twin sons were "possessed by the devil".
Jeremy then cruelly left her terrified sons with her, despite her erratic state, and said it wasn't his "problem".
Julie's confession
At the end of last week we saw Julie going to police to confess what she knows about Jeremy and the slaying of his family.
In episode five she told DI Stan Jones that Jeremy hired a hit man named Marcus to kill all of his family, and paid him £2000.
We also find out that Jeremy had talked about burning down White House Farm before the killings.
Julie also said Jeremy phoned her on the night of the murders to say that he had "taken care" of things.
She then talked about how Jeremy had called himself a "good actor" after feigning his upset to police after his whole family been killed.
Jeremy's arrest
Following Julie's shock confession, Jeremy was instantly arrested over his family's murder.
Jeremy then implied that Julie had made up the story to get back at him for dumping her.
He was very convincing and, despite objections from Stan, DSI Taff wasn't buying Julie's story - and said she was basically a woman scorned.
Jeremy flees
Julie's story about Jeremy hiring a hitman turned out to be false, as the so-called assassin called Marcus, had a cast-iron alibi.
It looks like Jeremy could have told her that story so she came across as a liar, if she ever turned him in.
And if that was the case, it worked, as Jeremy was released on bail.
After being released, Jeremy and his pal Brett Collins then callously tried to self some topless photos of his dead sister Shelia to the tabloids.
Unfortunately his bail conditions didn't state he couldn't leave the country.
In the last scene we saw him walking through an airport terminal with Brett, clearly leaving the UK.
When is White House Farm next on?
White House Farm concludes next Wednesday (February 12, 2020) at 9pm on ITV.
