Coronation Street’s Alina Pop new storyline will ‘make people hate her’, says actress Ruxandra Porojnicu
CORONATION Street’s Alina Pop returns to the soap next week – and actress Ruxandra Porojnicu is worried viewers will HATE her character.
Alina left the cobbles last year after a fling with Seb – and she’s about to make her return.
But in a new chat, Ruxandra reveals she’s worried about a potential backlash.
"I feel amazing about coming back to the show. I'm very, very happy to be back and I know there's so much more to come for Alina. I couldn't be more excited,” .
"I didn't always know I was coming back, but I hoped that I would with all my heart.
"The producers have told me a bit about what's coming up – enough to make me scream with excitement and joy!

"There is a bit more in store for Alina, but I can't say too much yet. There are some surprises and I just hope that the viewers will not hate Alina for a few episodes coming up!"
Alina returns to the cobbles tonight, when she tries to get a new job at Underworld but goes head to head with Eileen Grimshaw during the interview stages.
"Alina definitely came back for Seb because she was in love with him, as we saw in the previous storyline, but obviously he's with Emma now. Now Alina is trying to find a job and make a living for herself on this beautiful Street,” says Ruxandra.
The former nail technician first appeared on the show in March last year as part of the people trafficking storyline – and after she fell for Seb Franklin, Alina disappeared in summer.
She was last seen on screen in December, when she turned up looking for Seb – but with Seb now dating Emma, will she get stuck in a love triangle?
