Lewis Burton declares love for Caroline Flack on Valentine’s Day as her assault trial looms

CAROLINE Flack's boyfriend Lewis Burton has declared his love for the presenter on Valentine's Day - just weeks before her assault trial on March 4.

The tennis player has kept a low profile since Caroline was charged with assaulting him in December.

But it appears as though the 27-year-old couldn't help himself as he posted a tribute to his girlfriend on Instagram today.

Sharing a loved-up snap of him and Caroline, 40, on a night out, he captioned the shot: "Happy valentines love you."

Caroline can be seen running her hands through her hair, while Lewis is wearing a pink shirt.

The gushing post comes one day after the sportsman was spotted leaving a comment on a video of Caroline posted to her friend's account.

Commenting on a short clip of her rock climbing, Lewis wrote: "You're both useless."

Soon after Lewis' comment, the former Love Island host broke her social silence by sharing a string of pictures with her dog Ruby.

Caroline hadn't posted anything on social media since Christmas Eve.

A judge banned her from having any form of contact with Lewis, who she is accused of hitting with a lamp while he slept.

They were said to be covered in blood when police arrived at Caroline's Islington flat after Lewis allegedly called 999 saying that Caroline "tried to kill him".

Those who arrived at the bloodied scene on December 12 likened it to a “horror movie”.

Caroline, who stepped down as host of the current series of the ITV2 dating show,  denied assault by beating when she appeared at Highbury Corner magistrates’ court.

Meanwhile, Lewis issued a statement denying the assault ever happened.
