Harry Styles paid second tribute to Caroline Flack with ‘Treat People With Kindness’ pin at the Brits
HARRY Styles paid his second tribute to Caroline Flack at the Brit Awards on Tuesday night by wearing a lapel badge that read “Treat People With Kindness”.
It echoed the message left by his ex-girlfriend who was found dead in her London flat on Saturday after taking her own life.
Following Caroline’s tragic death, one of her old Instagram posts, which urged people to be kind, has gone viral again and it is also the name of one of Harry’s songs.
The post which Caroline shared read: "In a world where you can be anything... Be kind."
The poignant words have since been printed on T-shirts by In The Style, who announced all profits would be donated to the Samaritans.
Caroline dated Harry for three months in 2011 after they met on The X Factor the year before, when she was hosting The Xtra Factor.
Earlier in the evening Harry had worn a black ribbon attached to his left lapel, as a tribute to Caroline.
Brit Awards host Jack Whitehall opened the show by paying tribute to Caroline, saying she was "a kind and vibrant person with an infectious sense of fun".
Taking to the stage at the O2 Arena in London, Jack said: "Over the weekend we had the awful news that a member of the Brits family, our friend Caroline Flack, tragically passed away.
YOU'RE NOT ALONE
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.
It doesn't discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society - from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It's the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it's rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You're Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.
Let's all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others.
You're Not Alone.
