Do Jai and Laurel break up in Emmerdale? Arthur’s secret is finally revealed next week

EMMERDALE's Laurel Thomas finally spills the beans about Arthur's bullying next week after Archie gets trapped under a fallen cabinet.

Laurel - who only came to recently learn of her son's abuse on the ITV soap - has been worrying that the truth will destroy her relationship with Jai. So how will he react?

Why does Laurel finally reveal Arthur as the abuser?

In next week’s episodes of Emmerdale, Jai asks Laurel to move in with him.

She’s initially hesitant given that she’s lying to him about Arthur's abuse of Archie, but decides to put the past behind her and take her relationship with Jay to the next level.

But just as she thinks she’s getting a fresh start, Archie starts playing around with Sandy’s ship-in-a-bottle in one of the cabinets - angering a young Arthur as a result.

And before he knows it, the cabinet topples onto him and he screams out in pain.

Laurel and Jai rush in and are horrified to see Archie trapped beneath the toppled cabinet.

Laurel then decides enough is enough and finally tells Jay that Arthur is the one who’s been abusing his son for months.

What else do we know about Arthur’s abuse of Archie?

Emmerdale fans know that Arthur has been physically and verbally lashing out at the youngster for months.

Arthur is struggling to cope with grief following the death of his dad and has been using Archie as a punchbag.

He has also grown jealous of Archie getting attention from his mum.

But the abuse came to a nasty head when Arthur forced Archie to run away.

Arthur yelled: "We'd all be much happier if you just leave. Go to the woods, just hide in there no one would find you. We'd all be miles better off if you just went."

Do Jai and Laurel break up in Emmerdale?

There’s no word as yet on Jai’s reaction to Laurel’s shocking revelation.

But it’s likely he won’t be a happy bunny that Laurel’s son has been abusing Archie for months.

And it will be a double blow given that Laurel has been lying to him about it for weeks.

Jai will also be particularly furious with Laurel for covering up the truth given that he's been accusing Jimmy King of being behind Archie's bruises.

But fans will have to tune in to find out whether or not it could spell the end for Laurel and Jai's relationship.
