Curtis Pritchard’s friend claims Maura Higgins ‘wasn’t that into him’ and ‘wanted a way out’ of their relationship
CURTIS Pritchard’s friend claims that Maura Higgins “wasn’t that into him” and “wanted a way out” of their relationship.
A source close to the dancer claims the problem was on “her side” after seven months together.
“Throughout the relationship all I’ve ever seen is Curtis gushing about how much he loves Maura,” a source told the .
“He was genuinely so happy with her. I think the problem may have been on her side and not his.
“Maybe she just wanted a way out of the relationship and wasn’t that in to him after leaving the villa.
“I do feel bad for Curtis because he’s taken the high road and won’t get involved in a slanging match with someone he cared so much for.”
The Sun Online revealed earlier this week that Curtis had grown close to blonde bombshell Amber Pierson, a fellow professional dancer.
“I really feel for the poor girl who people are saying Curtis cheated with,” the source added.
“All she’s done is be one of like 20 dancers in AJ’s show, and now she’s being trolled online for something she didn’t do.
“The truth will find a way out eventually.”
The Sun Online has contacted Maura’s representative for comment.
Earlier today, Curtis had a dig at his ex girlfriend as he posed with his “family who always support me.”
The Love Islander, 23, made the defiant move after his ex posted a cryptic comment saying she had “given up you.”
Curtis and his brother AJ posed for a family photo with their proud parents at Strictly dancer AJ’s Live tour.
The star wrote alongside the snap: “#Family. The people that always support me …”
His brother commented beneath his photo: “Always Support each other.. ”
But other fans weren’t so nice, as people took sides in his break-up with 29-year-old star Maura.
One follower blasted: “Its a shame both chosen a dig at each other on social media.”
Another said to Curtis: “It’s not all about you though.”
And one more wrote: “Tit for tat now innit….”
Maura had earlier lashed out on Twitter and said: “A strong women never gives up on herself, but she may give up on you” followed by a white heart.
One follower wrote: “You forgot to add ‘Dear Curtis’.”
The star explained on Monday night that she and Curtis had called time on their seven-month relationship, which was born in the Love Island villa last summer.
Writing on Instagram, she said: “Curtis and I have made the decision to separate. We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship.
“There is no easy way to get through a breakup and no bad feeling on either side. We tried to make it work but it wasn’t to be and I wish Curtis nothing but the best for the future.”
She signed off with a large emoji of a broken love heart.
The Sun revealed last night that Maura split with co-star Curtis over rows about her closeness with professional skater Alexander Demetriou.
A source said: “Maura spent hours and hours with Alex in rehearsals for weeks and they have got really close. They have grown very friendly and it’s not gone unnoticed with the rest of the cast and crew — or Carlotta. She is furious about their increasingly cosy relationship which has continued despite Maura being knocked out of the competition. There are clearly some feelings there which Maura can’t help.”
All three are expected to be at Sunday evening’s final.
