Kimberley Walsh reveals BFF Cheryl recognised her by her BUM during surprise Sport Relief special
KIMBERLEY Walsh has revealed that best friend Cheryl recognised her by her BUM when she surprised her on The Greatest Dancer for Sport Relief.
The 38-year-old star teamed up with some famous faces to compete in a charity version of the BBC One show, which airs on Friday [13th].
Cheryl, 36, got the shock of her life when her Girls Aloud bandmate appeared on stage alongside Jay McGuiness, Harry Judd, Samantha Quek, and Alexandra Burke for the special.
Kimberley confessed that keeping the performance a secret from Cheryl was "really stressful" as she didn't want to ruin the surprise for her pal.
However, savvy Cheryl recognised Kimberley immediately - sharing her excitement before the beauty had even turned around.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Kimberley said: "I knew that as soon as she saw me from behind she'd be like: 'Okay, that's Kimberley'."
Mimicking Cheryl, Jay interrupted: "'I know that a** anywhere!'"
Kimberley laughed in agreement before continuing: "And it's just the way that you stand and everything - we know each other so well.
"So as soon as I turned round she was like: 'What are you doing?!' and I had to carry on and try and dance.
"It was actually really funny, I don't even think she saw our dance. Afterwards she was just shocked."
The Greatest Dancer Sport Relief Special airs as part of BBC One's Night Of TV, with Kimberley and Jay's team going up against Louis Smith, Saffron Barker, and Coronation Street's Katie McGlynn.
"Even on the judges' little call sheets they had us four without Kimberley, before the music even started Cheryl turned around and was like: 'That's Kimberley!'
"Me and Harry had to try and not react!"
The Greatest Dancer Sport Relief special sees the two star-studded teams learn and perform a routine in a bid to win a prestigious trophy, with the winner decided by Cheryl and her co-judges Oti Mabuse, Matthew Morrison, and Todrick Hall.
Dancing is far from new territory for Kimberley and Jay, with both appearing on Strictly Come Dancing in the past as well as performing on the West End.
Sleepless: A Musical Romance is the second production that the pair have appeared in together, being cast after wowing producers with their chemistry when they both starred in Big: The Musical last year.
The two play love interests in both shows - but Kim insisted that her husband Justin isn't worried about their connection.
Jay joked: "Do you know why he's not? Because he has met me."
Speaking about the show, he continued: "It feels weird because we spend nearly the whole show apart, it's like two plays happening next to each other and we meet at the end."
And both stars are confident that fans of the 1993 film will love the stage show, with Kimberley explaining: "It is an iconic movie and I really remember it growing up, I loved it.
"I think the changes just give a bit more like depth to the characters. You get a bit more of an insight into Annie and Sam and that is quite a nice thing."
Jay agreed: "I feel pretty happy that we’ve got a good starting point!
"It's totally different as well because this has songs."
