TOM Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have left the Australian hospital where they’ve been quarantined for the past week due to contracting .

After feeling they both felt a bit under the weather, Tom and Rita sought medical advice and discovered they were both coronavirus positive.

The Castaway actor shared on Wednesday: "We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches.

"Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too.

"To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive."

He continued: "Well now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed.

"We Hanks will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires.

Just as Tom and Rita reveal they’ve left the hospital and are on the mend, actor Idris Elba revealed for coronavirus.

On Twitter on Monday, he wrote: "This morning I tested positive for Covid 19.
