Emmerdale spoilers: Paddy Kirk struggles to cope with his guilt of leaving baby Eva alone in the car
PADDY Kirk struggles to cope with the guilt of his recent parenting blunder next week in Emmerdale.
Chas and Paddy - who were involved in a traumatic stillbirth storyline on the ITV soap in 2018 - are facing more heartbreak after Paddy left Eve alone in the car.
Emmerdale viewers know Paddy made a huge mistake when he rushed Marlon to the hospital earlier this month after he announced he had a sharp pain in his arm.
Worried that Marlon might be having a hear attack, Paddy drove him to hospital before running after him into the building.
And in the midst of all the chaos, Paddy completely forgot that he’d left Eve in the car seat.
By the time Paddy realised what he’d done, she’d gone missing.
He later discovered that Eve had been found and taken in to be checked over by doctors - much to his relief.
But things worsened for Paddy when an angry Chas revealed what he’d done to the whole pub.
Mortified, Paddy left her a note saying he wasn’t good enough for her or Eve and that he was leaving.
Chas was left distraught when she found the note, and matters were made worse when she had to cover for his whereabouts when social services arrived to question them about Eve.
In next week’s episodes of Emmerdale, Paddy is still reeling from his parenting blunder.
In the upcoming scenes, Paddy winds himself up thinking about all the awful things that could have happened to Eve when he left her alone.
As a result, he overreacts when Bear leaves her alone in her pram for a short time while he’s helping David.
"It's only later that Paddy remembers that Eve was in the car, he left the door open and it's the middle of winter.
"Paddy's reaction is just blind panic. He just runs straight out and hopes to find his daughter. He hopes he's going to find her there and get her warm again, but he gets to the car and she's not there.
"Rhona's there and Paddy panics saying: 'She's been taken, she's been taken'. He starts grabbing people, asking whether they've seen anyone with a child.
"I think as a parent that must be one of the worst things ever. He just absolutely thinks someone has picked Eve up, taken her and she's gone."
