ALMOST a year on since The Big Bang Theory came to an end, fans have been given a glimpse at Jim Parsons in his first major role since hanging up Sheldon Cooper's T-shirts.
The 47-year-old joins an all-star cast in Ryan Murphy's lavish new retro drama, Hollywood, playing a character called Henry Wilson.

Jim is joined in the limited series by former Glee star Darren Criss, Dylan McDermott and Holland Taylor and it features a mix of fictional and real life characters.
American Horror Story creator Ryan's first production for Netflix is described as a "love letter to the golden age of Tinseltown" and an "aspirational tale of what ifs", with the trailer showcasing an A-list gay couple as well as a black female lead actress fighting back against all the odds.
The glamorous clip features plenty of sexy scenes as well as incredible costumes, dancing and drama, as Queen Latifa's character says at one point: "It ain't about whether you win or lose, what's important is being in the room."
Executive producer, writer and director Janet Mock said of the show: "With the present so fraught and the future uncertain, we turned to the past for direction, uncovering buried history to spin an aspirational tale of what ifs.

"What if a band of outsiders were given a chance to tell their own story? What if the person with greenlight power was a woman?
"The screenwriter a black man? What if the heroine was a woman of colour? The matinee idol openly gay?
"And what if they were all invited into the room where the decisions are made, entering fully and unapologetically themselves to leave victorious and vaunted, their place in history cemented?
"Hollywood is a love letter to our little industry town where dreamers dwell, stars are born and magic transcends reality."

The limited series follows a group of aspirational actors and writers as they try to make it in a post-World War II Hollywood.
Each character offers their own glimpse into the Tinseltown world, exposing decades-old power dynamics and exploring how different things could have been.
Jake Picking plays one of the real life actors - movie star Rock Hudson - who concealed his sexuality throughout his entire career.
Meanwhile it seems Jim's character is based on real life agent Henry Willson, who helped develop the 'beefcake' craze of the 1950s.
He represented Rock as well as other attractive clients including Robert Wagner and helping to advance Lana Turner's career.
Hollywood premieres on Netflix on Friday, May 1.
