Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick, 44, announces her pregnancy six months after marrying soap producer Kate Brooks
EMMERDALE'S Michelle Hardwick is pregnant with her first baby six months after marrying soap producer Kate Brooks.
The 44-year-old actress, who plays Vanessa Woodford in the ITV soap, got married in Memphis with an Elvis-inspired wedding last September.
The happy couple are now expecting their first baby together with Michelle due to give birth in October.
Tonight, the newlyweds took to Instagram to announce their baby news with a picture of Kate holding their dog Fred and pointing at Michelle's baby bump.
"Fred's big brother duties commence in October #BabyBrooks," she commented.
Friends and fans rushed to wish Michelle and Kate well on their journey to motherhood.
Gemma Atkinson, who used to play Carly Hope in the soap, commented: "SO happy for you all!"
Antony Costa sent his love to the pair as he replied with two smiley faces.
Last year, Michelle shared a snap from her wedding day on the steps of Graceland, Elvis' home.
She wrote: "In over 100 degrees heat, on Tuesday 10th September, I became Mrs Brooks. #graceland #chapelinthewoods #memphis #nextstopnashville."
In the picture, Michelle can be seen in a white jumpsuit - something The King would be proud of - and sunglasses.
Meanwhile Kate wore a white flowing dress and held her bouquet up in the air as she grinned for the camera.
The couple became engaged in December 2018 after Michelle spent months planning the proposal.
Michelle took to Instagram to share the happy news at the time, writing: "So after months of planning, I popped the question!!! She said yes!!!
"#loveislove #noordinaryproposal."
Michelle has played Vanessa in Emmerdale since 2012, while Kate is a producer on the soap.
The couple went public with their relationship in September 2019.

They confirmed the romance on National Coming Out Day, with Michelle sharing a picture of the pair with rainbow emojis.
She captioned the sweet snap: "It will all work out in the end."
However Michelle previously admitted she was too scared to hold Kate's hand in public amid fears of homophobia.
Michelle spoke publicly about being a lesbian for the first time in July 2013 confirming that she was in a long term relationship with music teacher Rosie Nicholl at the time.
The couple became engaged on December 31, 2013, and married on April 4, 2015.
But in 2017, Michelle announced they were set to divorce.
