PIERS Morgan has accused Lord Sugar of "spouting nonsense" about coronavirus as their Twitter row rumbled on today.

The Good Morning Britain host had another dig at The Apprentice boss on today's show by describing him as "formerly a friend of mine".

He said: “Lord Sugar, formerly a friend of mine, I say that quite deliberately, spouting complete nonsense on Twitter, basically saying, ‘Why can’t people sunbathe?’ No comprehension of actually if everybody goes out and sunbathes then this becomes 100 times worse."

Piers’ comments come after he hit out at Lord Sugar yesterday for being “recklessly stupid” during a row over people sunbathing during coronavirus lockdown.

Over the weekend Brits continued to ignore the rules to not sunbathe during a mini heatwave, forcing a park in London to close – leaving Piers fuming.

But Lord Sugar didn’t seem to see a problem with it and replied: "I can't for the life of me understand what @piersmorgan is on about in respect to sunbathing.

"If you are 10 ft away from the next person in the open what's wrong with that.

"In Essex we have big fields if you are in the middle of one chilling out in the sun whats wrong with that ?"

Baffled by his response, Piers mocked: "Billionaire hiding safely in his luxury Florida home demands the right for British people to all go out sunbathing...

"In direct contravention of Govt. instructions, as UK #coronavirus death toll rockets incl more & more NHS staff on the frontline. What an utter disgrace."

Over the years Piers and Lord Sugar have come to verbal blows a number of times but always make up.

However, this time, the business mogul’s comments were a step too far and Piers announced he was ending their friendship.

He told his followers: "I'm done with @Lord_Sugar, trust me. His behaviour over this crisis has been an absolute disgrace, especially for a peer.

"But when he actively encourages British people to go out sunbathing, I can't just sit back & say nothing. His reckless, shameful stupidity will kill people."

Yesterday health secretary Matt Hancock threatened to ban ALL exercise outside if Brits won’t stick to lockdown rules – as he blasted sunbathers for refusing to obey them.

Mr Hancock told the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show: “We’ve said because of the positive benefits to your physical and your mental health that it’s OK to exercise on your own or with members of your own household.

“But if the result of that is that too many people go out and flout the other rules because they say ‘well if I can exercise then it’s fine for me to do other things’ then I’m afraid we will have to take action.

“If you don’t want us to take the step to ban exercise of all forms outside the home, you have got to follow the rules.

“Let’s not have a minority spoiling it for everybody.”
