Rosie was patched through to Good Morning Britain from her flat in Singapore where she is currently self isolating.

Rosie, 26, spoke about the extreme lockdown measures in the country and said that medics are taking people's temperature on the street.

What's more, anyone with a suspected cold is tested for the deadly coronavirus.

She said: "It started with temperature checks, then everyone had to work from home, then there was a travel ban. We did the whole toilet roll craze earlier in the year.

"People here are generally very well behaved as the government here is really strict so if you are working or caught being out, you get a £10,000 fine or six months in jail.

"Foreign workers, if you are caught out you’ll have your pass revoked and 30 days to pack up your stuff and leave.

"That is scary for people and people don’t want to risk it."

Rosie's dad, Lorraine's husband Steve, jetted to Singapore in February to see their daughter and the pair travelled to Vietnam for the weekend.

Rosie said that even back then, people were being tested as they walked off the plane upon returning to Singapore.

She said: "We were able to go to Vietnam for the weekend and still come back. But the temperature screening happened as soon as you got off the plane, as soon as you come out of the tunnel. And if they saw someone who was elderly they would go up to them and get them."

Lorraine's daughter also revealed that Singapore's residents have been receiving daily WhatsApp messages that update them on coronavirus developments.

She said: "We’re getting WhatsApp messages, two a day... with a lot of emojis which is quite nice.

";Then one at the end of the day with a count of the important cases, local cases, and fatalities, luckily they have been very low which is great but sad."

Dr Hilary Jones tells Lorraine why not everybody is being tested for Coronavirus and what the priorities should be

Her voice cracked and she wiped away tears as the presenter added: "I sort of think that you are in one of the safest places in the world, with the measures that are happening."

Her daughter added: "Yes the government are taking it really seriously they are doing it now, so they don’t have to do it later and it gets worse."
