The couple had both faced coronavirus, and were visibly overwhelmed as they reunited for the first time in 15 days after beating the deadly illness.

Breaking down, Susanna's voice cracked as she gushed: "She's not seen her husband in two weeks, oh my god."

The tear-jerking scenes seemingly left the TV presenter unable to speak as she then struggled to get her words out.

She explained: "The emotion of that reunion is overwhelming."

This is the second time this week that Susanna has been caught up in her emotions due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

On Monday, her eyes filled with tears as she sent love to co-star Kate Garraway's husband Derek Draper, who was rushed to intensive care last week.

She told viewers: "We send him every ounce of strength as he recovers from coronavirus and love to her family.

"We thank all the NHS workers working so hard at the moment treating those who are suffering the virus."

Her co-host Piers Morgan agreed: "It's coming home to everyone, everyone's been touched by this... This is something that affects all of us around the world.

"We've never had anything like this. It's agonising for everybody involved.

"We wish everybody the best, fingers crossed everything turns out ok."

Coronavirus has so far claimed over 6,000 lives in the UK alone, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson moved to intensive care on Monday as he continues to fight the illness.
