Piers Morgan shares throwback to his time in the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire hotseat as he praises ITV’s Quiz
PIERS Morgan has shared a throwback from his time on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire to mark the release of docu-series Quiz.
The Good Morning Britain host looked fresh-faced in the hotseat as he awaited a question from host Chris Tarrant.
Piers, 55, dug out the images to mark the new ITV show based on actions of infamous contestant Charles Ingram, who is said to have devised a coughing scheme to secure the million pound top prize in 2001.
Alongside his trip down memory lane, Piers posted on Twitter: "Watching #Quiz (which is great) & reminded of the fact I’m the only human being in the world to do Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with Ann Widdecombe & @maitlis."
Yet his comment raised eyebrows among his followers, who hinted his upload was a means to boost his own ego.
One quipped: "Watching a programme tonight & me, me, me, me, me!!"
Another then joked: "That was a long time ago Piers.... or you’ve had a hard last few years."
One hinted Piers would cheat in the same way as Ingram, writing: "Thought you’d cough in the end!!"
A fan then quizzed how much he had won, with Piers starring twice.
With Ann, he scooped £16,000 for charity, while with Emily the pair won £50,000.
His post came days after he and GMB co-host Susanna Reid had interviewed original host Chris on their breakfast series.
The telly favourite shocked viewers with his coronavirus conspiracy theory, as he suggested a bat was not to blame.
