A MULTITUDE of talented performers have stepped up to the Britain's Got Talent stage for the show's fourteenth series as the show returned TONIGHT (Friday May 2, 2020).

Warming the hearts of the nation, 96-year-old Nora Barton from West Yorkshire performed Loveliest Night of The Year from the film The Great Caruso with her daughter Pam on the piano.

Who is Nora Barton and her daughter Pam?

Nora Barton, who is 96-years-young melted the judges and nation's hearts with her touching nostalgic performance.

Nora was joined on stage by daughter Pam, who shared: "She’s sang all her life - when you were a child you sang - you had lessons in the early 20s with Madame Dickinson."

Nora agrees by saying: “Ive always sung really."

Her daughter replies: "You're a little diva aren’t you?

"She’s sung for people her life so at 96 this is a treat - this stage the London Palladium."

As Pam plays the piano Nora belts out the pitch perfect notes to much applause.

She gets a standing ovation from the judges and audience as she hits the high notes.

Dec declares backstage: "You’ve still got it Nora!"

Clearly touched by the performance, David says: "You are a very special lady because you are full of life, of love and full of joy and you’ve just entertained the nation at 96."

An impressed Alesha says: “Once a show woman - always a show woman - I really enjoyed that whole performance it was really charming - congratulations Norma."

Amanda tells the talented singer: "It was a very special audition Nora - you’re a generation this country is built-on, so very well done and thank you."

Simon teased the audience which was initially welcomed by boos: “I didn’t like you vey much...I loved you" - to the relief of the audience and cheers all round.

All four judges gave a resounding 'yes' for Nora to progress to the next round.

When is Britain's Got Talent next on TV?

Popular talent show Britain's Got Talent has returned to TV during the coronavirus crisis to entertain the nation during lockdown.

While the live shows have been postponed, tonight's episode was one of many recorded earlier this year before the coronavirus pandemic crisis took hold.

The fourteenth series will continue to air on Saturday evenings at 8pm on ITV.

Legendary hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have returned to host the show.
