Warring Wags Coleen Rooney & Rebekah Vardy will try to settle their legal dispute this week & avoid costly court case
WARRING Wags Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy will face off this week in a final attempt to settle their legal wrangle without a costly court case.
The former friends have been at loggerheads since October, when Coleen publicly accused Becky of leaking details of her private life to the media.
It is believed Becky, 38, wife of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, threatened to sue for libel — and Wayne Rooney’s missus signalled she would countersue for breach of privacy.
Sources say an arbitration hearing will take place in the coming week using video conferencing app Zoom in an attempt to avoid court — and the further spiralling of legal costs that are already said to be in five figures.
The women are expected to appear at the Alternative Dispute Resolution alongside lawyers.
An insider said: “This is a final roll of the dice to prevent a court case — but both Becky and Coleen are still as determined as ever to be proven right.
“They have both been strongly advised to reach an agreement but they’re both totally determined to stick to their guns.
“Unless they can agree to walk away, the costs are only going to continue climbing.”
Coleen, 34, accused Becky of being the leaker on Twitter.
She claimed she had suspected who was behind stories appearing in the media and decided to prove it by blocking everyone apart from Becky from reading her Instagram account.
Coleen said when leaks continued she decided to out Becky.
Her detective work earned the nickname Wagatha Christie.

Becky denied the accusations, saying that Coleen should have contacted her to discuss the concerns privately.
She added: “I liked you a lot Coleen and I’m so upset you have chosen to do this, especially when I’m heavily pregnant.
“I’m disgusted I’m even having to deny this.”
