Gogglebox viewers slam Mary for ‘racist’ Korean impression as she mimics Kim Jong-Un’s sister
GOGGLEBOX viewers were horrified tonight after Mary Killen did a ‘racist’ Korean imitation of Kim Jong-Un’s sister.
Fans of the show slammed Channel 4 bosses for leaving the impersonation in calling it ‘un PC’ and ‘shocking’.

It was an emotional night all round for Gogglebox viewers after news broke that beloved cast member June Bernicoff had passed away at the age of 82.
However, the upset turned to anger when show regular Mary Killen did an impression of Kim Jong-Un’s sister.
In the episode's final part, Mary and partner Giles were shown news coverage of the North Korean leader's first public appearance following speculation he had died.
Discussing whether or not the reports were accurate, Mary said: "I think what will happen is, if he is dead, and this is fake video, then the sister will just need to put things in place for her to take the reigns.”

Mary then did an impersonation of Yo-jong with a stereotypical Korean accent while rolling her eyes back and waving her head around.
Giles, sitting next to her, said: "That's a very good imitation, Mary. I'm not sure how PC it is, but that is an excellent imitation."
Fans were divided by the parody of the North Korean dictator’s sister.
One wrote: “Oh Mary. wow. just caught the end of #gogglebox. not sure mary's impression of kim yo-jong should have been left in”

Another blasted: “Mary with that unPC kim jong un sister impression wow #gogglebox”
While a third added: “Anyone catch Mary’s shocking racist impression on #Gogglebox tonight???”
More comments came up on Twitter, including, “Am I the only one that noticed the semi-racist impression by the upper class lady near the end #Gogglebox”
And, “#Gogglebox Mary - racist impression! Knowing she’s on TV too”

Some viewers didn’t seem the harm in the impromptu impression, comparing it to mimicking any other accent.
One of Mary’s supporters wrote: “Giles and Mary are one of my faves on #Gogglebox People calling her racist need to give their heads a wobble! Does that mean we cant impersonate a scouse or Irish accent again”
Another fan added: “Mary's impersonations of Kim Jong-un sister was hilarious, if you're calling out racism I'm sure the mass murdering dictators are losing no sleep over it at all.”
And a third laughed: “Absolutely crying with Mary’s impression of Kim Jong Un sister! #Gogglebox”
A fourth blasted the haters, writing: “Absolute sh**show of people tryna slam Mary for imitating an accent. Oh yeah because it’s not like every culture imitates other cultures for comedy. This shit happens all over the world, it’s called humour. Cue the ‘but white people can’t do it’ tweets #Gogglebox”
