Lydia Bright reveals distress after being called a ‘child abuser’ by mum-shamers after drinking alcohol
FORMER Towie star Lydia Bright has revealed she was called a "child abuser" by mum-shamers after drinking a glass of wine.
The new mum was talking to Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson during his internet TV series Quarantea.
The Essex star said she was recently criticised by online trolls for drinking alcohol while looking after her baby Loretta on her own.
The MIC star asked her if she's had to deal with the 'mum police' yet and she replied: "I am very real on my Instagram stories...
"I really want to highlight the ups and downs of parenthood.
"I want to show when I'm struggling. One day I'd had a really tough day, I was like, I'm going to have a glass of wine.
"I haven't really drunk for a year so the next day I had a headache. I said I've got a little bit of a hangover this morning.
"The next day, oh my gosh, I get called a child abuser. It's a small minority who send the abuse. But I'm not going to not share things like that.
"If I've had a hard day and I need to take the edge of then I'm going to do it."
Lydia, the ex girlfriend of James 'Arg' Argent said how hard it is when your parenting is questioned.
She admitted: "When someone says something negative about your parenting responsibilities it hits a lot harder.
"We cover things from isolating alone with a newborn child, to the mummy police, how life has moved on since Towie and so much more. Please give it a watch and let me know what you think."
The former reality star - who gave birth in February - took to Instagram to defend herself against trolls recently.
Lydia previously posed with a bottle of wine in her hand and wrote: "Yes to the weekend."
However, the drinking session got a little out of hand as the 30-year-old woke up feeling hungover the next day.
She wrote from her bed: "I didn't put covers on my bed last night. I'm drinking Coke at 5am. Don't judge."
The post left some followers concerned, with one writing: "It's just you and your baby... wise to be getting drunk is it."
While another added: "You shouldn't be drinking while looking after your baby. That's abuse, you know."
Lydia later defended herself on Instagram Stories, saying: "After a year of no alcohol, due to being pregnant, I had my first glass of wine this week.
"Last night I had a couple of glasses. I wasn't drunk, falling over and Loretta was in bed.
"I have a small hangover, which is already lifting because clearly my body isn't used to alcohol after such a long time. Give a girl a break!"
