Dakota Johnson says she ‘meditates’ to fight ‘depression’ during coronavirus while at home ‘without family or friends’
DAKOTA Johnson is relying on meditation during isolation, to cope with her depression.
The 30-year-old Fifty Shades of Grey actress said that "being kind to her body" was how she's managing being away from family and friends.
“You are at home, you’re not with your friends, you’re not with your family, you are not able to do the things that make you feel worthwhile,” she on Wednesday.
“You’re kind of in this costume of depression,” she continued.
“Right now, there’s also immense pain and sadness ricocheting around the world constantly so it’s hard to feel totally positive all day, every day when the world is sad, it’s dangerous and it’s scary and it’s lonely,” she added.
The daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson said she manages her depression by staying active.
“Meditation or going for a walk, being kind to your body … Those little things make a difference ultimately.”
“I’ve been reading a lot and watching a lot of movies and working on production stuff, trying to be productive,” she said.
Johnson has struggled with depression since her early teen years.
She that she finds her depression to be “beautiful.”
The star has a new movie debuting during quarantine.
She is starring alongside Tracee Ellis Ross in the comedy The High Note, which will premiere on streaming platforms May 29.
She's dating Coldplay's Chris Martin and recently managed to bag the role of co-directing Coldplay's music video for Cry Cry Cry.
She said, “That experience was just pretty dreamy. I am so grateful I was given the opportunity… I was working with such incredible artists in every department… I felt extremely privileged to make that video.”
