Strictly Come Dancing champ Kelvin Fletcher insists he and wife Liz defied the show’s ‘curse’
STRICTLY Come Dancing champ Kelvin Fletcher has insisted that he and his wife Liz Marsland have defied the show's infamous "curse".
The pair's relationship has appeared rocky in the past, with Liz unfollowing Kelvin on social media earlier this year, but the 36-year-old actor has now revealed they are stronger than ever.
The ex Emmerdale star, who won the BBC show with professional partner Oti Mabuse, said: "We look back on the whole Strictly experience fondly, one we experienced as a family together."
He added to : "We've been together for many years and we're so happy with each other, in our little bubble."
Kelvin has known Liz since he was nine years old, and they tied the knot in November of 2015.
Together they share two children, three-year-old Marnie and 18-month-old Milo.
Kelvin admitted that lockdown has done his family a world of good, with his non-stop schedule disrupted and forcing him to spend time at home after his busy stint on Strictly.
He said: "After an intense four or five months of regular family life being disrupted, to be at the other end of the spectrum, where I'm constantly at home, in a weird way, it couldn't have come at a better time for me and Liz, and for the kids."
At the beginning of the year, Liz famously unfollowed Kelvin when he and Oti were spotted enjoying a late night drink following a Strictly reunion.
They shared a 3am nightcap in a London hotel bar, with an insider saying at the time: "Naturally Liz wasn't happy after finding out Kelvin had been out late drinking with the Strictly lot.

"It wasn't easy for her to see him still out at 3:35am, while she's at home looking after their two young children. Any woman would be upset if they were in the same situation.
"In the heat of the moment she unfollowed him on Instagram, it was just a shock for her to see him out so late."
A separate source insisted that Oti and Kelvin's drink was "completely innocent", with Oti happily married to Marius Iepure.
The so-called Strictly Curse has been responsible for several high-profile break ups over the years, with multiple celebrities seeing their relationship break down after spending time on the show.
Over the course of 17 series of the BBC favourite, nearly a dozen couples have split up.
